The Sony DVD-VCR Combo supports multiple output options for connecting to a TV. Here are the cables you might need, depending on your TV’s available inputs:
1. Composite (RCA) Cables – Most Common for Older TVs
- Cable Type: Yellow (video) + Red/White (audio) RCA cables
- Connection:
- DVD-VCR Side: "Video Out" (Yellow), "Audio Out" (Red/White)
- TV Side: Corresponding "AV In" ports (Yellow, Red, White)
- Cable Type: Green, Blue, Red (video) + Red/White (audio)
- Connection:
- DVD-VCR Side: "Component Video Out" (Y/Pb/Pr) and "Audio Out" (Red/White)
- TV Side: Matching Component Input ports
- Note: This only works for DVD playback, not for VHS.
- Cable Type: Standard coaxial cable (single round connector)
- Connection:
- DVD-VCR Side: "RF Out"
- TV Side: "Antenna In" or "Cable In"
- Note: You’ll need to tune your TV to channel 3 or 4 to watch VHS/DVD.
- Cable Type: 4-pin S-Video cable + Red/White (audio) RCA cables
- Connection:
- DVD-VCR Side: "S-Video Out" + "Audio Out" (Red/White)
- TV Side: Matching S-Video input

- If your TV has Composite (Yellow, Red, White) or Component inputs, use the matching cables for best results.
- If you're using a very old CRT TV, the Coaxial RF cable will work.
