The Panasonic PV-L559 is a VHS-C camcorder from the early 2000s, and unfortunately, it does not have an external microphone input (commonly a 3.5mm mic jack or a mini XLR input). It only uses the built-in microphone, so you can’t directly hook up an external microphone to it.
Workarounds (if you still want better audio):
-
Record audio separately using a digital voice recorder or smartphone with a lavalier mic, and then sync the audio in post-production (if you're digitizing the VHS footage).
-
Use a shotgun mic or directional mic near the camcorder to capture better ambient sound and sync later.
