Is this the newest and best of the last of the MiniDV cameras? I am looking for one to play my minidv sony 40 to upload them to digitial Do you have a digital transfer kit? I would like to be able to get some use out of it besides tranfer but that is my goal. Thanks

The Sony DCR-HC52 (released in 2006) is not the newest or last of the MiniDV camcorders that Sony produced. It’s a solid, entry-level to mid-range Handycam with Carl Zeiss lens, 40x optical zoom, and a swiveling LCD screen. It works well for playback and transfer, but it isn’t considered the very “best” MiniDV model. Higher-end 3-CCD models like the DCR-TRV900/950 are often regarded as top-of-the-line.
