To use the CD player, make sure the unit is set to CD mode first. After inserting the disc and closing the lid, press the “CD” function button, then press Play.
If nothing happens after closing the lid, it is usually not a setting issue. Common things to check:
Make sure the CD is inserted correctly (label side up)
Try pressing the CD button before hitting play
Test with a different disc in case the first one is scratched or unreadable
If the unit still does not respond, these models are known to sometimes have issues with the laser or CD reading mechanism, which can prevent the disc from being recognized even when powered on.
