The Technics SL-PG340 Compact Disc Player does not have its own volume control—volume is controlled through your Harman/Kardon receiver. If the volume is not working, the issue would be with the receiver itself rather than the CD player.
A couple things you can try:
Make sure the correct input is selected on the receiver
Check speaker connections and wiring
Try another audio source (like a radio or tape deck) to confirm if the receiver volume is responding
If the volume still doesn’t work with other sources, the receiver may need service or replacement.
