Sony ICD-PX470 Stereo Digital Voice Recorder does support voice-activated recording through a feature called VOR (Voice Operated Recording).
When VOR is turned on, the recorder will automatically begin recording when it detects sound or voices and pause recording during quiet periods.
Important Notes:
• The recorder must be powered on and placed into recording standby mode
• It will not automatically turn itself on from a powered-off state
• Loud background noises may trigger recording
• Recording sensitivity can vary depending on the environment
How to Enable VOR:
- Press HOME
- Go to Settings
- Select Recording Settings
- Select VOR
- Change the setting to ON
- Press Record to place the unit into standby/recording mode
The ICD-PX470 also includes an Auto Voice Recording mode designed to improve voice clarity and reduce background noise during speech recordings.
