The Panasonic DMR-EZ37VS does offer basic editing features, but it does not provide full, professional pre-burn editing capabilities.
You can perform functions such as deleting titles, dividing titles, creating chapters, and making limited edits depending on the type of DVD media being used. However, it does not offer timeline-style editing, frame-accurate editing, or the ability to extensively rearrange and edit content before burning a DVD. Many of the more advanced editing features are only available when recording to DVD-RAM media.
If your goal is to transfer VHS tapes, trim unwanted sections, combine clips, and then burn a finished DVD, a DVD recorder with a built-in hard drive (HDD) would be a much better choice. The hard drive allows you to fully edit your recordings before writing them to DVD.
Unfortunately, we do not currently carry HDD-equipped DVD recorders, so the DMR-EZ37VS would not be the ideal choice if advanced editing is your primary requirement.
