Yes. If the Sony CDP-CE215 includes the original compatible remote (or an equivalent replacement with full functionality), the remote can turn the player on and off (standby) in addition to controlling playback, disc selection, track skip, programming, and other standard functions.
If you purchase this unit from Porter Electronics with a remote included, it will support the power function just like the original.
