The Sony VRD-MC3 does not have a built-in TV tuner, so it cannot record television channels by itself. It may record a TV program if a cable box, satellite receiver, or television provides compatible composite RCA or S-Video outputs that can be connected to the recorder.
Many newer TVs and cable boxes do not provide video outputs, and copy-protected programming may not record.
