Will this play hi8 tapes and record them to the memory stick?

Yes, the Sony DCR-TRV330 Digital 8 Camcorder is compatible with Hi8 tapes for playback purposes. However, it lacks the capability to record directly from these tapes to a memory stick. To record new content, you'll have to use the memory stick. In case you want to digitize your Hi8 tapes, you can use a tape to digital converter kit to connect the camcorder to your computer. We do have these kits available for purchase at the below link.
